Children as Thinkers, Doers & Makers of Meaning

At Holakids we believe that every child is strong, powerful and independent. They are like empty vessels who have desire to be filled with growth, exploration and connection. For us, the child is an active member when it comes to the construction of knowledge. We believe that every child is capable of thinking, questioning. This is possible only when there is enough time, resources and environment given to the child to explore. At Holakids we have a non-interaction time where in children move out freely, explore their theme based classrooms, connect things with real-world which in result help them create meaning through every experience.
Children as Thinkers, Doers & Makers of Meaning

Who is a Child?

At Holakids series of inquiries are structured for the whole year wherein children involve and immerse themselves and learn through experiencing. At Holakids our focus is to ignite curiosity in the child rather than instruction.

When we see children through this lens, we begin to listen differently. We move from teaching to children, to learning with them.

What is Childhood? – The Time of Exploration

For us Childhood is a time where children have time for exploration, imagination and discovery.

It is a phase when curiosity takes over the child’s behavior where child is all ready to touch, test and discover.

At Hola Kids, we see childhood as a journey filled with questions “what if”

A puddle becomes a space for science exploration, an outdoor play becomes a story, and pretend plays become serious research.

We curate theme based spaces where children can move independently, make their own choices, and explore with all materials and ideate themselves.
Through outdoor play, pretend play, and open-ended experiences, we let children live their curiosity.

How Do Children Learn?

Children learn by doing.

They try then make errors and then they discover.

At Hola Kids, we trust this learning curve which is very natural.

Our environments are thoughtfully prepared to invite curiosity like the block area waits to be balanced, art area waits for the colors to be mixed, Outdoor area waits for water to flow and mud to touch the hands of childrenTeachers observe quietly, ready to support but never interrupt the child’s moment of discovery.

Each theme gives all possible experience which then becomes the base for contruction of knowledge in the child. Children become curious to think which leads to deeper understanding and connection with the real world.

The HolaKids Way of learning.

Our philosophy at HolaKids revolves around everyday life. Learning and discovery lies in how child pours their own water, clean-up time at the end of the day and how a child comforts a friend. At Holakids children live Independence.

HolaWay of learning id a blend of all known international pedagogies like Montessori, waldrof and reggio. We have art, construction, book and block spaces in every classroom wherein children have choices to make.

Teachers act as facilitators at Holakids. Teachers observe, reflect, document child’s ideas and discovery.

Holakids is a place where Theory meets practice.

We respect each child’s pace, their way of knowing, and their voice.

Our curriculum is not fixed, it is child-led.

This is what makes Hola Kids a space of discovery.

From Learners to Researchers – The Transformation

Holakids trust children to be capable beings, explorer of ideas.

A puddle becomes a space for science exploration, an outdoor play becomes a story, and pretend plays become serious research.

In our theme based classrooms children have endless opportunities and possibilities. Teachers act as facilitators at Holakids. Teachers observe, reflect, document child’s ideas and discovery.

Together the teacher, the child and the parent build knowledge which is meaningful.
This is the essence of our “Learn by Doing” philosophy

We Are Little Discoverers

THE CHILD

Viewed as strong, rich in potential, and driven by the desire to grow. Their curiosity makes them question the world around them.

(My work is to play, my mess is with clay!
Evoke a thought and I will sow. Give me more, and I will grow.)

Environment is Our Co-Teacher

THE ENVIRONMENT

The environment encourages exploration, sparks questions, and invites the search for answers together.

Materials are thoughtfully added to the environment to promote creativity, problem-solving, and inquiry.

Guide Me to Create My Own Learning Path

THE TEACHER

The teacher plays a dual role in the classroom – facilitating and learning alongside children. They nurture curiosity, propose hypotheses, and support problem-solving.

Teachers initiate experiences, build upon them, and help children revisit and reflect.

We Value Parent Participation

THE PARENT

Teachers, parents, and children are seen as collaborators in the learning process. As a child’s first educator, parents play a vital role in their development.

An open exchange of ideas between parents and teachers is essential in creating a positive and meaningful learning environment.
